Race: "Your responses suggested a slight automatic preference for Black people over White people."

Disability: "Your responses suggested a slight automatic preference for Abled Persons over Disabled Persons."

The first assessment that I took was designed to assess my perceptions and preferences of race. According to the results from this assessment, I have a slight automatic preference towards blacks. While I never considered a racial preference, I believe that in this case, the assessment results maybe somewhat accurate. As an African America, I tend to identify more so with cultural dimensions that are associated with African American culture. I believe that at the core of this assessment lies the concepts of ethnocentrism and cultural relativism. For instance, there are certain elements of black culture which can only be understood by members of the go up. In the same manner, I would argue that there are certain aspects of Caucasian/European culture, which can only be understood by members of that culture. During the assessment, there were several depictions and several phrases presented, which in my opinion are unique to those who are members of the African American culture. I would argue that since I am a member of the African American cultural group, I have a slight preference for other members, since there is a greater understanding of the practice and beliefs of this group. Furthermore, as a member of this group, I would argue that I am able to identify with other members of the group.

The second assessment focused on my perceptions towards those with disabilities. In this instance, I am in total opposition of the results from the assessment. The results suggest that I have a slight automatic preference towards those who are abled body. I personally identify as a member of the disability subculture. "People with disabilities are a minority group by virtue of restricted access to education, full employment, and other resources as well as being stigmatized and marginalized by others in their communities" (Lipson, 2019). As it relates to this assessment, I would argue that those who are members of the disability subculture may adhere to the theory of cultural relativism. For instance, there are issues that face member of this group, which can only be truly understood and judged by members of this group. Those who are abled body can not fully understand the unique issues associated with those who are disabled; therefore, I would assert that those who are abled body are not justified to judge issues relative to this group.

The two Harvard Project Implicit test that I took are race since we been discussing culture and religion since it's a dimension in diversity. The race test necessitates the competence to differentiate faces of African and European origins. It expresses that many Americans have a strong liking for white over black that's automatic. The religion test necessitates some acquaintance with terms used in religion from different religions in the world.

The results of my race test suggested a moderate automatic preference for African Americans over European Americans. My automatic preference may be described as slight, moderate, strong, or no preference. This indicates the strength of my automatic preference, if I were faster responding when African Americans and Good are assigned to the same response key than when European Americans and Good were classified with the same key.

The results of my religion test suggested a slight automatic preference for Judaism over Islam. My automatic preference may be described as slight, moderate, strong, or no preference. This indicates the strength of my automatic preference, if I were faster responding when Judaism and Good are assigned to the same response key than when Islam and Good were classified with the same key.

My membership in different subcultures influenced my perceptions of others in a positive way. "A subculture may form when a social group expresses values, attitudes, beliefs, or behaviors that are at variance with those of the dominant culture" (Kahn, 2018 Ch 2.2). Subcultures are not differentiating by isolated traits, they represent comparatively that causing cohesion social systems. This is positive because I understand that culture are different but the same.

A person's social constructs influence their behavior and attitude. The concept of difference in diversity embrace credence and deference that create having an understanding that each person is singular and acknowledging a person difference. With that being said, my membership in different subcultures influenced me in a positive way because my perception embrace credence and deference that allows me to have an understanding and respect for other individuals and cultures.
