Erin Andrews invasion of privacy case

Erin Andrews is a Fox Sports reporter. Her nude video spread on internet in the year of 2008, at that time she is working in ESPN and she was in one city to cover a college football game. For that incident, she filed a case 75 million dollar suit against Michael Barrett who is an insurance salesman, Nashville Marriott owner and her stalker also. He filmed her nude video through his mobile by removing the peepholes in the door and uploaded in the internet. In this case she own 55 million dollars as a penalty from West End Hotel, Windsor Capital and Barrett. 28 million dollars from West End Hotel because the hotel was found to have failed in protecting Andrews privacy when she was a guest at the hotel and remaining 26 dollars from two companies and Barrett sentenced for two and half years in jail for this act (Fay, 2018).

After this situation, now she will not believe any hotel management and she will not allowed anyone to carry her luggage into the room. Taking an image or photo or nude photo, video of a person without their permission is crime. Barrett captured a nude video of Andrews secretly. So he is more responsible person for that act. Hotel management also guilty in this act because they leaked her booking room details and they helped Barrett in this crime. In my opinion, this is horrible situation to Andrews; there should be more laws to punish the criminals to stop this type of crimes (Giddens & Petter, 2020).
