· Select a stereotype that influences interpersonal communication style to avoid conflict or barriers (e.g. employee at an Indian call center changing their name so that Western customers can pronounce it).

· Identify the cultural norms that inform the stereotype.

· Consider activities that would educate others about stereotypes.

By Day 7

Submit a 2- to 3-page paper that addresses the following:

· Describe the cultural norms of the stereotyped culture or co-culture.

· Explain the stereotypethat influences cultural communication style, the possible origin, and how it is maintained.

· Explain a short activity that you could provide to educate others on how to avoid engaging in stereotyping of this culture.

· How do you think others would react to your attempt to educate them on stereotypes?

· How could you encourage positive views of the culture or co-culture within your community using a communication strategy?

· How can you make use of the seven dimensions of culture and other cultural awareness tools to continue to build your cultural competence and interpersonal communication expertise?

· How do you plan to continue to practice mindfulness in developing effective interpersonal communication strategies?

· What are some insights that you have gained concerning stereotypes as a result of this week’s activities?

Submit a 1- to 2-page Journal entry which includes the following:

· A brief summary of your Week 4 reflections
