Research Study Question, Hypothesis, Research Design, and Data Type
This section of the research study outlines the research questions, research design, and
data types. The primary question the study intends to answer is the impact of vaccines on disease
prevalence. Sub questions will further apply in the study. The research design is correlational,
where independent and dependent variables are compared to establish a relationship (Kuziemsky
& Yee, 2017). The independent variable in the research is vaccines, while the dependent variable
is disease prevalence. The study will use secondary data because of ease of accessibility.
Research Question/Hypothesis
The main question in this study will be:
What is the effect of vaccines on the prevalence of diseases?
To respond fully to the question, three questions will be used during the study. The questions
include:
a) What are the implications of drugs on individual and national health, economy, and social
structures
b) What are the impacts of technology on vaccine immunizations and outcomes?
c) Apart from creating vaccine awareness through publicizing its benefits, what else can be
done to ensure increased vaccine awareness and acceptance?
Research Design
The study on vaccines will apply a correlational study. A correlational study is where two
variables are compared. The two variables that will be present during the study are the

independent variable that remains unchanged and the dependent variable under study
(Kuziemsky & Yee, 2017). Through the correlational study design, the research will identify
how vaccines have contributed to disease prevalence patterns. In that case, the independent
variable is the vaccine. The dependent variable is disease prevalence. Therefore, the study will
majorly focus on disease spread amid the introduction of vaccines. For instance, have vaccines
contributed to the increased occurrence of disease or reduced the prevalence? Examples of
diseases treated through vaccinations shall be considered broadly to give a more understanding
of the topic.
A correlational study is a good fit for this particular study because it provides a chance to
analyze how the use of vaccines transformed the fight against diseases. Thus, there will be a
good understanding of the effectiveness of vaccines and fighting against diseases (Kuziemsky &
Yee, 2017). The second reason the correlational study is preferable for the research is that it will
open opportunities for more studies to be conducted based on the outcomes at the end of the
research. If the study shows that vaccines reduce disease prevalence by a large margin, the focus
will be on alternatives to effectively handle infections.
Data Type
The research study on vaccines will use secondary data sources. Secondary sources are
those already containing the requisite information on vaccines (Smith, 2008). The study will use
peerreviewed articles and government cites to obtain credible information during the study. The
advantage of secondary data sources is the ease of accessibility (Smith, 2008). They, therefore,
reduce the time and costs of conducting a study. The articles shall be identified from Google
Scholar and PubMed. The resources for use will be five years or less to ensure that the research

contains current data on vaccines and disease prevalence. Moreover, current resources will
guarantee high accuracy within the research.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the study design used is correlational. The focus of the study is establishing the
relationship between vaccines and the spread of diseases. Secondary data types will be used.
