Strategic Communication -- Research Project

You are to choose one of the Strategic Communication Topics listed at the bottom of this assignment. Choose a topic that interests you. You will conduct research on this topic and write a paper and give a presentation based on your research and analysis.

Research

· Find information about your Strategic Communication Topic in our textbook as well as other sources that you find helpful

· Find at least 2 current news articles that relate to your Strategic Communication Topic

· Articles should be from within the past year. Must be news articles. Cannot be blogs or opinion pieces.

· If you are unable to find a current article, you must discuss this with me.

· Search reputable online news sources, as well as print sources

· Find at least 1 historic news article/source that relates to your Strategic Communication Topic

· Go back at least 10-20 years or more ( sources within the last 9 years will not count for credit )

· Find out what has happened historically in relation to your Strategic Communication Topic

· Wikipedia cannot be used as a source.

· Identify the chapter(s) and the chapter title(s) in which your Strategic Communication Topic appears. If your topic does not appear in the book, indicate that as well (some topics are not in the book).

· Identify and explain 3 specific concepts from the book that relate to your Strategic Communication Topic

· Concepts do not necessarily need to be in the same chapter where your Strategic Communication Topic appears

· Explanations of connections should be thorough

· Make your connections clear

· Explain in detail some of the particular issues that were covered in your Current News Articles that relate most directly to your Strategic Communication Topic?

· Explain in detail some of the particular issues that were covered in your Historic News Article that relates most directly to your Strategic Communication Topic?

· Based on your research, what changes have taken place over the years related to your Strategic Communication Topic?

· Discuss what you learned about your topic as a result of this project

Paper

· The organization and structure of your paper should follow the same format as the analysis (described above)

· Paper should be 8 pages in length
