Question 1: How does transportation cost effect a company profit or loss?

Question 2: How can a company lessen the blow from the cost of transportation?

Question 3: What are the stages and some of the steps to a transportation program?

Thesis: Transportation cost for a company is expensive.

1. What is my purpose in writing this paper?

The purpose for this paper is to show the cost of transportation and how it can be a burden in some areas of the company. Not many people are aware of what it takes to run a company combined with making it a lasting company. There are issues within transportation especially the cost that may need some explaining.

2. What do I already know about my topic? 

What are my feelings toward this topic? I once was in the transportation field as a movement control technician, responsible for tracking routes of airplanes combined with road routes. I am not an expert about the subject but there are things that I know about i.e., the bill of lading (which is needed for the drivers to get a payment), the loads are specific (depending on the load determines what type of truck will be needed), etc. My feeling towards this subject is I need to learn just a little more not only to complete my degree but also it may help with a future position and the knowledge would be impeccable.

3. What do my readers already know? What are my readers’ feelings toward the topic?

This group is diverse, so I am not sure what this group knows. I know that being in the Army you go on convoys however it does not teach you everything there is to know about transportation. Hopefully my readers will feel enthusiastic about this subject and have the urge to learn a little about transportation and its cost.

4. What do my readers need to know to understand my point?

My readers don’t really need to know much because I am going to try to hit the basics about a transportation cost. The reader’s need to keep an open mind about the subject. I am sure there will be questions of why this and why that and the plan is to ensure by the end of the paper all questions are answered.

5. What information do I need to research and add to my paper?

The information that is needed for my research is first the role of transportation. What makes up a transportation bill when a company wants to ship a load out. I may need to add routes or charts to show a cost analysis or something that will give visuals about transportation cost.
