Topic: Research Proposal Thesis Statement

In Module 2, students will be submitting their research proposals. In this module, students should attempt to craft a thesis statement for that proposal. This thesis statement should fit within the topic parameters for the research paper. See the Research Paper Instructions.  Additionally, this thesis statement should meet the qualifications as laid out by Michael Kibbe in this module's reading, From Topic To Thesis. This book is literally written to guide the student from where he/she typically is (knowledge of how to write topical papers) to where he/she needs to be in doctoral work (knowledge of how to write and argue a thesis.) It is the difference between informative speeches and persuasive speeches that helps one understand the difference between topical papers and research papers.

One final note, given that a thesis statement should not be terribly long, the normal word count for a discussion thread does not apply here.
