SUBJECT: Research Proposal about Religion and Business

Overview

Many people have always thought that religion and business are like oil and water. They never seem to understand how religion may impact their businesses. Religion has very sound principles that can be used to attain business success and ethics.

Issues

The problems that may arise when we mix religion and politics may be too complex to deal with. This is because many materials, ideologies and thinking patterns that are used in politics seem to go against the religions doctrines. For instance, business is about competition while the Christian values teach against competition (O'Brien & Paeth, 2006). Moreover, competition drives one to practice unethical behavior with the intention of beating the competition. These practices may go against the Christian teachings. In business, everyone has a right to be served without discrimination. This becomes a problem when a Christian is forced to offer services to a gay couple. Islam teaches that people must not take advantage of others. In Islam, there are no interests charged on loans. This doctrine is completely opposite the business value that requires one to pay back loans with interests (Ward, 2016).

Research

Business and religion is a very tricky relationship that requires an accurate and an in-depth study. To better understand this relationship, the study must compile different religious principles that have any relevance in business and use these principles to define the standard business practices.

Audience

This study is meant for those who are struggling to balance their religious beliefs with the market practices. The end goal is to provide this group with an insight into the religious values and how they can be integrated into their business lives.

Call to Action

I am waiting for your nod to continue with this study. I am so psyched up to study and understand the application of religion in business.
