I wanted to get up early to do my excursion yesterday on the 30th of July and explore Stanley park but, again couldn’t get up from bed until 10pm, which is so usual in this pandemic. I had no energy to make breakfast for me so instead of eating at home, I decided to do breakfast at a restaurant nearby my house. I went to Brodeurs Bistro, I ordered chicken burger, lettuce wraps and waffles with maple syrup for my brunch , my bill was $35 including tax and tip.

I must say the food was delicious, Brodeurs is my favorite place to eat, I went there after couple of weeks due to the pandemic going on, I noticed several changes at the restaurant, I was supposed to give my contact number and name before getting seated just so anything happens at the restaurant, they can give me a call back to isolate, then the flowers were marked with directions and I was supposed to enter and exit from the different doors, which I appreciate very much. Also, not every table was open for the service and guests now prefer using mobile friendly menus rather than the hard copy, I must say people are trying to get out of the covid-19 outbreak, but are still very scared at the same time.

Then without wasting anymore time I reached Stanley Park, I have been to Stanley Park various times before, and my favourite place to see there is Seawall, I have never seen such beautiful view ever before in my life, it has amazing views of the ocean, downtown vancouver, tall buildings and the mountains, the cold breeze air made me feel even more relaxed and happy. I don’t know if I just felt it or the quality of air has become better over the past couple of months, as people were so resistant to go out and leave their place with any emergency due to the pandemic. I could hear the birds chirping, singing songs, I sensed a strong feeling of being at a place full of nature and fresh air, the tiny waves in the beach water looked like it was dancing as the birds sang.

I was amazed by the beauty of the place, Stanley Park is the place where you can go and enjoy at the weekends even when you don't have much money to spend. I must say, the atmosphere was not same as before, I went last time in March, as the parks were also closed for tourist visit to limit the spread of Covid-19, when I went last time, there was a huge gathering of people, people were playing music and dancing, kids were playing in the park, there was hardly any space to step in on the beach side area, but this time, there were many less people who came to visit the park. Of course, I am familiar with the fact why they were not there? But still it was unbelievable to see such a popular place with very few people. You might want to look at my amazing sketch that I drew at the beach.

Yes, it was exactly like what you are looking at, people were sitting far from each other, were not passing through the same route at the same time, I must say social distancing was being followed very strictly ( thank me later for the amazing drawing, nothing much I just got some real talent!!!). Coming back to the point, not only few people and social distancing, the major factor that I would love to share is- I could see very less number of young children or older people at the park, I really appreciate that people have taken the pandemic seriously and are taking steps accordingly, it feels very good to know that people have realized the importance of family, they tend to spend more time at home with younger and older ones, but don’t prefer them bringing out much as they know the fact that they might have weaker immune system which would leave them no chance of fighting if the virus if they get one!

Also, it is not certain that teenagers or the working population cares about themselves and don’t come out, I guess people also understand that they live with younger and older people, and don’t want to give them the virus, and don’t want them to feel bad or weak by leaving them back at home, which could also be a reason that there were many less people who came to the park.

At the end, I must say not just the EARTH, families are healing as well. One of the beautiful consequences of the pandemic, well, I never thought this excursion would force me to think so deep and come up with many critical reasons, I am amazed by this idea of learning I must say. I literally was sitting, staring at the water and thinking of all this stuff. At one point of time I felt like I am in some other world, away from all the tensions and chaos in my life, what an amazing experience it was. For the very first time, I also noticed the clouds in the have different shapes, though I also found a cloud looking like a donut, may be I was hungry by that time, when I checked the time it was 4.45pm, it was time to go, I don’t know how the time went so fast. I felt like staying, but life is life, it keeps on running, and time is time one must have to obey it.
