Here is how this assignment is described in the syllabus: "In this written assignment, students will identify and articulate a problem facing those in their field. Students should first describe the research problem, starting off with a broad issue, and then, step-by-step, guide the reader to the purpose of the study. The paper should conclude with a research problem statement, which is a concise, 1-3 sentence statement that describes the purpose of their proposed research study. Students can include research question(s) and/or study objectives if they want. The total length of the assignment is 2-3 double-spaced pages. The grading criteria used to grade this assignment are described in detail in Canvas."
