Research Paper Submission

You may opt for either an argumentative research paper, where the intent is to persuade readers, or an analytical research study (Baker, Brizee, & Velazquez, n.d.):

Argumentative Research Paper:

The argumentative research paper consists of an introduction in which the writer clearly introduces the topic and informs his or her audience exactly which stance he/she intends to take; this stance is often identified as the thesis statement. An important goal of the argumentative research paper is persuasion, which means the topic chosen should be debatable or controversial. (para. 3)

Analytical Research Paper:

The analytical research paper often begins with the student asking a question (a.k.a. a research question) on which he or she has taken no stance. Such a paper is often an exercise in exploration and evaluation. (para. 6)

While the intent of the analytical research paper is not to persuade the reader of the author’s views, you are still required to develop conclusions and recommendations, based on well-supported research.

Instructions

Conduct an analysis, predicting a short-term (next 5 years), or long-term (10-20 years) problem or problems that will impact a major component or components of the global air transportation system. The intent is to base the prediction upon well-documented research, historical trends, identified vulnerabilities, internal and external threats, and expected industry growth and technological enhancements. You may want to consider basing this project on the information you discovered in your group's project.
