writing a research paper on a topic that interests you from either class or the reading. You must

cite at least 3 peer-reviewed articles that are related to your topic and provide more information

about the subject. I am happy to point you in the right direction if you are unsure of where to

find your sources.

Your paper must be at least 3 pages long, double-spaced, 12-point plain font (Times New

Roman or similar), with 1-inch margins. Please include an additional page with your references,

which should be cited in APA style. Don’t forget to include in-text citations as well. Please do

not use direct quotes in your paper.

Here are a few sample topics:

• Heritability of psychological disorders

• Efficacy of a mental health treatment in treating a certain disorder (examples: cognitive

behavioral therapy for depression, psychodynamic therapy for post-traumatic stress

disorder, dialectical behavioral therapy for borderline personality disorder)

• Effect of minority stress on a marginalized group (LGBTQ individuals, racial minorities,

etc.)

Below is the rubric I will use to grade your paper:
