Research Paper
Research Paper Requirements and Topics:
This paper should demonstrate your reading comprehension, critical thinking, and ability to apply King’s ideas to a topic that interests you. The strongest essays will engage with specific problems raised by The Truth About
Stories and make meaningful connections between the course text and your chosen research area.
1500-1800 words in MLA format, complete with in-text citations and a works cited page (the works cited page does not count toward the minimum word count)You must cite at least four secondary sources in addition to The Truth About Stories, but I expect you to consult (read) more during the research process.
Your thesis will be your own, original argument. I will not tell you what to write. What do you want to write about? What do you want to argue? What do you think? This paper requires the use of 4 secondary sources. These sources must be credible articles derived from academic databases, books, or e-books from the ibrary’s collection. If you use a website outside of Brenau’s database it must be credible, scholarly, and approved by me (via the Annotated Bib). Stories are primary sources and also do not meet this research requirement. Again, 4 critical articles or books are required as sources for this paper. These must be cited on the Works Cited page and used within the paper in order to meet this research requirement. The primary source (story/stories) must also be used.
