Overview

In this assignment, you should discuss the concepts of leadership versus that of management. You should discuss the role of leadership and management within a public safety setting. Please compare the two concepts as they relate to public safety. Additionally, please discuss which you feel is most critical to the success of a public safety organization and why. Please be sure to discuss leadership as a neutral process as well as a moral process. Finally, please discuss the concepts of assigned versus emergent leadership within the context of formal and informal leadership in a public safety setting.

The paper should consist of at least 7-9 full pages (not including any title, abstract, and reference pages) in current APA format and must discuss the points required. Follow the guidelines provided below:

· Compare and contrast the concepts of leadership and management.

· Discuss the value that both offer to the field of public safety.

· Discuss whether you feel leadership or management is most critical to a public safety organization and why.

· Discuss leadership as a neutral and a moral process.

· Discuss the concepts of assigned and emergent leadership within the context of formal and informal leadership.
