This is a research paper on a selected topic and needs to be related to a contemporary/modern (after year 2000) issue in Europe. You may choose from any of the topics listed below for a 5-page research paper.

· The impact of the Coronavirus on a single European Country

· How the EU as a whole is dealing with Coronavirus

· The role of the Eurovision song contest in contemporary European culture

· Human Trafficking in Europe

· Black Lives Matter in Europe

· Explore the issue of Nuclear Power in contemporary Europe.

· The role of soccer in European culture

· War in Ukraine

· Sustainable Food Movement in Europe

· Immigration/Migration to Europe

· Brexit

· LGBTQ Rights in a specific European Country (or a comparison between two countries)

· Legacy of Colonialism in one European Country

- Research Paper should be 5 pages, 12-point Times New Roman font, double spaced.

- You must use at least three (3) outside sources in your paper.

- Wikipedia or other encyclopedias are not acceptable college-level resources for the paper. You can cite books, journal/magazine articles or websites that contain primary documentation of your topic.

- Paper should contain a clear thesis statement or main idea statement around which your paper or argument is structured.

- Paper should have an introductory paragraph, several supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion.

- You must make sure that all source materials are properly cited using MLA format.

- You must include citations WITHIN the body of your paper – having “works cited” at the end is not sufficient.

- Paper should demonstrate a clear understanding of your topic. This is not meant to be just a regurgitation of facts, but rather a thoughtful and well-organized explanation of your topic.
