Almost every single website is faced with some significant level of risk in its activities. These risks seem to vary from the infringement of the various privacy provisions globally. This variety in the risks that the e-commerce business gave to face is one of the factors that make it quite important to try and evaluate the various privacy policies that the organizations have actually put in place. The main approach that the e-commerce companies are using to enhance their services is the data that have been gathered form their various clients from the website. It is never easy to try and control the policies in a business that tend to have different regulations in the different countries or areas of jurisdiction. Reports have indicated that when the companies have gathered information form their clients in a specific country, it becomes relatively easy to formulate the privacy policy guidelines on how to handle the issue in that particular area of jurisdiction (Wolfe, 2019).
There are scholars who have reported that some of the companies are actually embarking to the evidence based approach to try and derive information that will help them enhance the privacy policy concept in the business. This is why the business organizations are actually embracing the evidence based practice because it gives them a relatively reliable and accurate info ration to use in the formulation of their policies.
There are several studies that have covered this topic on how the e-commerce companies can actually improve the privacy policies in their line of operations and the various challenges that they have to deals with. The technological advancement and the difference in government policies have come out to be the main issues to deal with in this project. Scholars have on the other end stated that the information that when the companies derive information from the website data of their clients, it becomes easier to come up with strategies (Capistrano & Chen, 2015).
Research Methods
This topic is quite wide and so allows it to accommodate the implementation of several research methods in trying to collect data on the study. The research methods will incorporate information from various sources, among them will be data from the established e-commerce companies which include the companies like Amazon. The data will be collected through observations of what really goes on in the company’s websites in the urge to try and control the whole privacy policy issues in the various areas. This will give the first-hand information since the researcher will be able to get to see for themselves what goes on in the website that point towards policy formulation.
The information that relate to the company policies are generally incorporated in the company policy documents. This simply means that the research, methods will incorporate the process of deriving the relevant information about the privacy policies from the organization’s policy documents. When selecting the research method in a particular study, it is important to come up with an effective research method that will give workable information about the study. This is the reason why the research methods in this case will cover the organization policy documents among other documents in the organization that handle the organization policies and privacy issues in the e-commerce business (Bennett & Raab, 2017).
The research methods in this case gave so convincing results about this study question. The reports indicate that the majority of the e-commerce companies use privacy policies to ensure that the date form their various clients are well protected. An example of a company that was covered by the research as Amazon Company, this company uses the policies to safeguard the client’s data by requiring the user’s personal log in to the website for data collection. The company privacy policy agreements also indicate the type of data that have been collected.
The other result that was observed from the company data was the use of locations of the users to enhance the privacy. A company like Amazon operates globally, this means that it has to abide by the privacy policies of the different companies all over the world. This is enhanced by having to identify the user location at the various times they access the website. The research methods in this study was therefore quite comprehensive and covered quite a number of study methods and approaches. It was generally handling the case study approach and extended to observation, focus groups and questionnaires.
Conclusion
To conclude his research, we can say that with the increasing cases of e-commerce related privacy issues, the business organizations continue to interact more with their clients. There is need for the business organizations in this field to come up with effective and viable strategies that will see them enhance the privacy of their information and those from their customers. The recommendations that were made for this literature are that the privacy policies for the e-commerce enterprises are subject to several changes in their lines of operations. They need to come up with policies that will allow room for these changes in the various lines of business. In as much as the e-commerce business organizations operate in different territories it makes it quite difficult for the companies to come up with uniform privacy policies.
