The argument of this paper is the influence of the American Convention of Human Rights in the United States and how it has positively and negatively impacted the U.S Immigration Policy. 44.7 million immigrants lived in the United States in 2018. One in seven U.S residents is foreign born and immigrants currently share the overall U.S population.
