Is a child’s development helped or harmed by digitized technologies

Is a Child’s development helped or harmed by digitalized technologies? Explain.

Introduction

Children at a young age go through a process called youth development; a time in which what taught or shown to the child will profoundly impact them for the rest of their life. The child at this time is almost identical to the use of a sponge, which absorbs everything, and is something that they will implement into their lives. Digitized technologies, in this case, acts as the water that the sponge (the child) is to absorb. Controversy about children at a young age with technology has become more and more of a concern for adults, specifically with their parents. The fear is that as the child clings to the technology within the development, the ability to learn various things weakens and short attention span becomes more prevalent.

The myth among parents is that children with technology during development will have more of a problem in learning new things and having difficulty in responding to authority why more parents are becoming fearful of technology becoming more of reliability for their children during their early stages of development. Others may argue that giving the child technology will benefit them in enhancing their multitasking skills and prevent future tantrums. Furthermore, parents believing both sides of the myth, come up with one sound resemblance, that technology must be monitor when children are in the hands of it. It is not the digitized technology that harms the child’s development, but the amount of time a child is with the device.
