Outline Essay

1)

I have selected this topic for my research because this is a very important but also difficult and complex subject to talk about. Currently the United States is facing a very dark path under Trump’s Administration because of his Immigration policy that has affected thousands of immigrant’s families, and the majority of them have been in this country for years. They have supported this country's economy like never before, but even that they still have been treated unfairly. With this topic I want to prove that there are principles and norms that protect immigrant human rights and that the American Convention on Human Rights have influenced the United States towards the immigration policy positively but also negatively.

2) The American Convention of Human Rights is a pact that is used as an international human right norm adopted by many countries with the purpose of respecting the rights of man, in a system of personal liberty and justice. The chapters included in this pact mentions something very important that states must take into consideration: they must approve the rights to all persons and adapt their laws with the convention.

- One of the Main disagreements of the US with the American Convention is that they believe it would interfere in their federalist system to allow the president to enter an international agreement that might bind the states. The U.S have been in disagreement of changing their domestic laws to international treaties. The conclusion to this is that it has weakened the domestic effect on ratifying human rights in general.

1) The positive side of this US ratifying the American Convention is that the United States is the first power that has always participated in agreements and that they are looking for promoting and accepting human rights, they will always look for the common well-being of their people.

3)

- The argument of this paper is about the United States and the influence that the American Convention of Human Rights has had positively and negatively, as well as how it has changed US Immigration Policy.
