1. As a researcher, reflecting on the listed scenario, you want to investigate the reason for the alternative school’s high recidivism rate. Discuss how you would determine what type of sample you would use, i.e., simple random sample, stratified random sampling, convenience sampling, and what type of instrument you feel would be best to collect your date, i.e. questionnaire or survey.

Scenario: The local newspaper notes that the number of high school students being expelled for inappropriate behavior has continued to increase for the past three years. Most of these expelled students are sent to two local alternative schools. A significant number of these students are returned a second and third time to the alternative schools for displaying similar behaviors as that of the first offense. One alternative school has an enrollment of 312 students. The enrollment of the other school is approximately 503.
