Note: while there is some flexibility with topics, they must be approved by your instructor. Topics whose arguments will be based upon religious convictions (i.e. reproductive rights) are not acceptable for this assessment opportunity. Your task is to choose a contemporary topic of interest to Canadians, and which generates vigorous debate, which is supported by research materials. Research materials for this effort must be current (i.e. no more than five [5] years old), authoritative, and come from Sheridan’s library databasesthe exception to this would be Internet sources such as Statistics Canada publications, and/or research papers published by government ministries, or by universities. A paper based upon Internet sources only does not satisfactorily demonstrate the learning outcomes for this course.
