Research questions: How does leadership style affect organizational performance?
In this research question, the independent variables are leadership style, while the dependent variable is organizational performance. Typically, the independent variable is not affected by the change on the dependent variable but instead changes on its own (Sukal, 2019). On the other hand, the dependent variable is concerned with the change in the independent variable. It is the factor being studied in this study.
Leadership styles are techniques used by organizations to run their activities to achieve their objectives. In most cases, organizations use the leadership style that can enable the management to carry out their duties effectively to achieve organizational goals and objectives (Sukal, 2019). For example, most organization use a combination of democratic and autocratic leadership styles to run their business activities.
Besides, organizational performance entails various achievements of an entity that are accrued from its business operations (Sukal, 2019). It also encompasses of profitability that an organization can earn over a given period of activity. Generally, it depends on measure and techniques that the management of an organization put in place to ensure that they increase their performance.
The scale of measurement is used to describe different types of variable in a research study. In this study, an ordinal scale of measurement can be used to describe the dependent variable to show the level of organization performance (Carruthers & Maggard, 2019). The level of change in the production levels of an organization is directly affected by the leadership style used by the company. Similarly, an ordinal scale of measurement can be used in this study to describe the extent to which any leadership style used by an organization will affect its performance. The ordinal level of measurement always is easy to remember because it does not involve complex procedures that might affect the outcomes of the results obtained from a research study.
