Research Design for Sun Coast Research Project

Research methodology

Quantitative research was applied and employed in the Sun Coast Project to help in investigating the six issues. Quantitative research is used in the research because the whole project is based on data that can be analyzed using numeric techniques. Still, the research methodology to be applied is quantitative because it will help the research team come to a conclusion identifying strategies to curb the issues. The method can be used to explain why employees are not doing well in terms of productivity. The quantitative type of research which is proposed will also be used to examine how dependent and independent variables relate (Methods Approaches, 2019).

Research design

The non-experimental or descriptive survey study was used as a research design. The design is descriptive as its main aim is to establish a pattern about the topic being studied. Different phenomenon relationships should be explained and illustrated using this research design. The research design is also the best to address the research questions and hypothesis. Using this descriptive type of research design, the researcher can collect measurable info which is appropriate when analyzing a specific subject (Nelson, 2018). The collected information can then be scientifically analyzed consequential to data controls canceled due to behavior stimuli.

Research methods

The best and most fitting research method for this study is correlative research in combination with a descriptive quantitative design. The reason why correlative research is appropriate is that it can test how two variables relate. This research method analyzes the variables before assessing the statistical link between them. Also, by employing the correlative method, two variables are analyzed and a conclusion based on the topic of study can easily be formulated. This paper has several variables that need testing and by using this research method, researchers can get effective results that will have measured the relationship of the variables. Additionally, this technique can compare variables between the data collected now and previous data with no help of other materials from other areas (Harwood & Hutchinson, 2018). This research method has proven to be very effective.

Data collecting methods

Several data collecting techniques can be used in this research but the main one is observation. Many of the things in this project need observing. For instance, employees’ safety and health, and productivity results. Also, through observation, it easier to understand the questions of research (Harwood & Hutchinson, 2018). Observation is a great technique as it will provide insight into how the organization has been running while bringing out the truth about the health of employees. Also, through observation, it easier to capture health and safety strategies employed by the management to ensure the safety of employees and productivity levels are high.

Sampling design

One of the most preferable sampling methods is the convenience sampling design as it is not only time-saving but also cheap and allows an easier location of subjects. This method is suitable because of data and information accessibility. Researchers have samples readily available and they do not have to do a lot of research because much of it will be present. The researcher’s proximity to the available data which explains the topic to be researched is one advantage of this sampling technique. Nelson (2018) explains that truthful and trustworthy knowledge is most assimilated via observation.

Data analysis procedures

To analyze the data, several methods such as simple regression and correlation will be used. The regression method will use data about the measurement of variables then come up with a model that can help determine the dependent and independent variables (Creswell & Creswell, 2018). For instance, the research question one hypothesis will be tested so that data can be deconstructed and the location of controlled values can statistically determine if lost time hours can be impacted by the lack of safety training. Correlation can also be used in analyzing the research question one hypothesis. This will be done by correlating the productivity of employees against how healthy their working areas and conditions are.
