Part 3B
It is crucial to examine and determine studies' relevance, trustworthiness and value. I reviewed four studies to identify their value and effectiveness in addressing pressure ulcers to influence good health results in clinical settings. For nurses to play their role in safeguarding public health and also, to provide services that are of high quality, reliable and valid information is required on what is possible or not possible to harm clients and the approaches to care that represent good value (Grant, & Osanloo, 2014). This paper will discuss the best practice that has emerged from the research that I have reviewed.
From what I have learned when analyzing these articles is that evidence-based practice is a unique practice when it is compared with the standard practice where it makes use of only the interventions that have proved effectiveness that is supported by scholarly evidence. The evidence is in the form of peer-reviewed studies and published in journals that are reputable. Pressure ulcer was our topic for the four studies, and it is one of the concerning conditions that is acquired in hospitals which reduces the healthcare quality (Susana, 2019). There is effectively a quality benchmark utilized to assess the care quality provided by healthcare facilities by quality enforcement companies like JCAHO. There is a need to instate clinical inquiry to interventions through evidence-based that can prevent quality improvement issue that we discussed, which is pressure ulcer. From the studies that were critically appraised, they identified the best practice to be evidence-based practice by; different interventions that were support surfaces, repositioning, risk assessment tools, staff education, etc. These practices provided evidence that backed them as effective preventive measures for pressure ulcers.
