Starting Draft
Some couples see marriage counseling as an end to their relationship. Most don’t understand how advice can turn a lousy relationship around for the good of both partners. I was once that person, “counseling is not for me,” I use to think that the problem wasn’t my fault and after several failed relationship and one almost divorce I finally looked towards marriage counseling, and after a couple of sessions, my relationship started to look up for the better. My spouse and I now have a new found respect for each other and also learned to communicate better. What I'm pointing out here is sometimes allowing another person to hear your problems and making a few suggestions to fix your marriage wouldn’t hurt.
For a marriage to turn around the couples, need to seek help as soon as a problem arises. When looking for the perfect therapist, you must take into consideration is the therapist experienced in counseling couples and are both partners comfortable with the chosen counselor ( LICSW,2016). Selecting the wrong therapist could also make or break couples spirit and could cause both or one partner to lose sight of the task. Timing also plays a great deal, whether or not if the counseling would even work. According to Dr. John Gottman, some couples wait an average of six years before even thinking twice about seeking professional help. Therefore, they have spent all this time resenting each other (LICSW,2016). Waiting this long could take even longer and more sessions to find common grounds for the couple to see a future with each other.

Feed Back
1. I believe your goal is to persuade more couples to try counseling. Is that correct? If so then I'm not sure how your supporting points help convince the reader that advice is vital.
2. Did the divorce rate go down because of counseling? Your second point gives a reason counseling wouldn't work.
How did I use the feedback?
1. I went back and looked over my supporting points and when I notice that my supporting points weren’t so convincing. I took the time to rearrange them and hopefully the ones I’m using now will be persuasive enough.
2. I went and did more research on divorce ratings and added them to my paper.
How would this feedback help me in the future?
I will take my time and focus more on my supporting type and be sure that every argument that I choose to use to persuade someone to be clear and work to my advantage not against it.
