5. The system should be supported with a high network bandwidth that would allow the system to communicate with the user interface in a remote environment.
6. Inside-sales representatives should be able to receive and process orders made online through the website.
Hardware Requirements
1. Servers – there is need for web server network servers, database servers, file servers and application servers which would support the intranet that holds the web-based system.
2. Telephone – there should be a telephone network which would allow the Inside-sales representatives and the customer support representatives to communicate with customers
3. Network switch – this would be required to provide a synchronized connection of the various workstations in the various departments of the intranet.
4. Router – this would help to route information outside the intranet to the public network. Such is necessary to allow customers to access the services through an e-commerce website with a public page and portal.
Software requirements
1. Web-server application – there needs to be an application such as the Apache server that would help to configure and allow the connection of the data tier with the presentation layer of the system.
2. Antivirus – this is required to allow a secure connection of the various network resources and the web-based application.
