Impromptu Speech

DO NOT RECORD THE VIDEO, JUST NEED TO WRITE THE SPEECH FOLLOW THE EVALUATION FORM

Impromptu speaking is probably most like the everyday-speaking situation. This assignment will allow you to learn and apply the basic skills of public speaking by acquiring the ability to think clearly "on your feet." You will be selecting a current event from Reuters.

I am going to ask you to look through the articles, and select one that is of interest to you. You will then research the article for five minutes, and record yourself discussing the article for at least 90 seconds using Screen cast-o-matic. (Links to an external site.)

You must have complete eye contact with the camera.

You will be submitting three things for this assignment:

1. You will need to upload the video file of your recording.

2. You will need to submit a 1 page paper describing your experience with this process. What made you choose your current event topic? What was your least favorite topic?

3. You will need reflect on the Impromptu speedh, and fill out the rubric below and highlight the criteria in the areas where you: NW - Need work, A - Average, AA - Above Average, E - Excellent
