Based on your chosen article, write a 1000-word article review according to the class lessons. Use APA (7th edition) formatting including a title page. Include an introduction with a thesis, a summary, three evaluation paragraphs and a conclusion. No subheadings are necessary.

The body paragraphs should follow the general paragraph pattern for writing and include evaluative discussion. Please follow the instructions for thesis and paragraph patterns from the class materials.

1. Overview

Title: Follow the "A Review of [title of the article]" Format

Bibliographic information: You need to provide the full bibliography of the text or piece you are reviewing.  This is often presented at the top of page 2 in regular APA format for a reference.

Introduction: Your introductory paragraph should be short (3-4 sentences in total). Here is the information you should provide in the introduction:

· the author’s full name and his or her background/credentials

· the general topic of the article/book (A sentence like, “The article explores the lives of foreign domestic workers, such as nannies”).

· the author’s perspective, bias, and/or basic outlook on the topic. An example is “The author provides an economic perspective on the topic.”

· Thesis Statement: Provide your overall evaluation of the article. Make sure the evaluation offers a balanced look at the article's strengths and weaknesses. Use the 'although' format and be sure to mention the specific evaluative criteria (MEOW’Main argument, evidence, Organization, and/or the Writing style of the article in one way or another.) utilized for the evaluation.

Summary: Summarize the “gist” of the text only.  First mention the thesis of the article then guide the readers through how the author has arrived at the argument. Use reporting verbs and time transitions as needed. Make sure not to not include examples or details of any kind.

Evaluation (body paragraphs): Following the thesis statement format, discuss each MEOW criterion. Each body paragraph will follow the general body paragraph pattern and use two quotes from the article as evidence for your reasoning.

Conclusion: Offer a recommendation or a statement of the usefulness of the article, mentioning the specific audience as its ideal readers (e.g. the general public, students, or experts).
