The primary duty of the role is to support the police department operations. Crime analysis involves the analysis of crime and criminals, victims of crime, traffic issues, quality of life concerns, and internal police operations to support criminals prosecution and investigation, crime prevention, patrol activities, problem-solving, and police efforts evaluation (Chohlas-Wood, & Levine, 2019). The analytical functions to help police in various ways assists in solving crime investigations, improve prosecution ability, informs about crime trends, and offer support to fusion centers.
