• Feeling threatened by your presence, the owners of the existing arts district ice cream store
respond with frequent promotions that lure potential customers away from your business.
• Construction at the university means you must park in a remote section of campus, significantly
reducing foot traffic in your area.
• Despite moderate foot traffic through downtown, office workers don't typically order anything that
might drip on their clothes.
• Although you're the only vendor selling smoothies in the arts district, sales are mediocre.
• While huge numbers of commuters pass through the train station every day, most of them are too
busy to stop.
• City market regulars pass you by in favor of healthier options at the produce stands.
• Although many of your beach customers say they prefer ice cream, they seem happy with frozen
yogurt as a second choice. Luckily, your brand of frozen yogurt does not melt too quickly despite the
warm temperatures here.
• Smoothies sell reasonably well at the beach, but they don't seem to be the most popular choice.
• Smoothies are a popular choice for busy commuters on their way to and from the office.
• There is no shade at the beach and the prolonged direct sunlight makes it nearly impossible to
maintain optimal freezer temperatures. Your ice cream packaging is not suited for even slightly
warmer temperatures, leaving you with half-melted ice cream and annoyed customers.
