Report Rubric
I. Format
A. Is the report professionally formatted in way that makes sense? Any issues with the formatting?
B. Does the report’s subject heading note both the type of report and focus of the report.
C. Overall presentation. Does the author use headings and highlighting for clarity and easy access to each area of her/his report?
II. PROBLEM/INTRODUCTION and BACKGROUND
A. Does the introduction contain a purpose statement that explains the reason for crafting this document?
B. Does the author use the introduction to answer efficiently the questions within a journalist’s question model? (i.e., Who? What? Where? When Why? How?)
III. DISCUSSION/BODY
A. Were the research and findings sections included?
B. Was the information organized in a way that makes sense – chronologically, topically? Was the organization consistent for each section?
C. Was the information presented clear and thorough?
D. Did the author use graphics? Does the graphic make sense for where it is located within the report?
IV. CONCLUSION/RECOMENDATIONS
A. Does the author explain the “value” of evaluating and analyzing the problem in an effective way? Is the target completion date clear?
B. Does the conclusion contain a clear, specific and feasible plan of action that outlines what further actions must be taken to alleviate or solve the problem?
V. WORKS CITED
A. Is there a works cited list?
B. Is the works cited list formatted using MLA format?
