and employ adaptable approaches to their instructional styles. This will help get the most out of
their students. STEM teaching is not all about teaching and correcting students when they are
wrong, an ideal STEM learning environment is all about asking questions and encouraging
independent thinking among the students. In STEM, student’s failure encourages students to
solve problems and is part of their growth academically.
Project-based learning is an effective method to use in STEM teaching since it
encourages students to learn and acquire skills by giving them practical tasks. This enables them
to work for certain periods of time and come up with solutions and inquiries about a project. As
an educator, one has to facilitate the project and encourage the students to take full control of
their projects without interfering (Rai, 2017). Building a model of a bridge or developing an app
are some of the example of projects. Choosing learning methods depends on many aspects,
availability of required materials, the age of the students being taught and the time planned for a
particular lesson.
In all the STEM subjects, group discussion is Very important, as a practicing teacher
grouping students in groups of four in each group. Afterwards giving them assignments
regarding the project to be done, this is a good way to assess the students and keeping them in
focus. After the completion of the project, an exam is given to the students to evaluate what the
students learned in that particular project. In STEM learning, thinking and problem solving is the
key, therefore grouping students into small discussion groups will work best, and they are able to
share new ideas on how to work on the project and how to solve the problem.

should be do (done): handA good STEM lesson should be hand on, this is a learning method where students used
their hands, whether through designing, creating, constructing and any other inventive or any
other discovery process (Ibanez et al., 2018). After interacting with student while helping my
mentor, using discussion questions to engage students and helping them remain focus is an
effective way in STEM learning, this is my preferred strategy because of its effectiveness.
Implementing hand on in the lessons given worked efficiently, this was made easier by providing
students with library materials. These materials will make STEM learning easier.
