Christianity. It claims that spirituality is a religious and theological lens through which the
concept of God is explained in terms of who, what, and how. God is viewed as the all-powerful
and immortal deity who reigns supreme over everything and everyone (Villegas, 2018).
Christians have formed belief systems provided in the Bible based on their view of God as a
notion. These belief systems explain the meaning of life and the purpose of human life. Humans
may strive and reach a transcending condition for all life experiences with this knowledge.
As a result, spirituality performs theological and symbolic roles. Furthermore, it makes
Christians more tolerant of life since there is an assumption that God directs all fate and that
everything that happens, good or evil, must have been authorized by God. Apart from that,
Christians see ethics as making decisions based on God's commands as laid down in the Bible.
They rely on spirituality to comply with God's demands without ambiguity.
The Christian viewpoint on spirituality and ethics has consequences for health care since
it guides decision-making by establishing boundaries for accepting options/choices when making
decisions. Postmodern relativism takes a more liberal approach to spirituality, saying there is no
objective truth. It is unclear to argue that God exists or does not exist, with each alternative being
a possibility. In the same way, when it comes to ethics, postmodern relativism holds that
opposing ethical views might be legitimate or flawed, but there is no absolute truth. The
inference is that no one argument should be dismissed because it is incompatible with another.
The concept of postmodern relativism is precious in health care since it promotes multicultural
care delivery by tolerating differences. Medical professionals would recognize that they do not

have a monopoly on the truth regarding spirituality and ethics, and those obscure civilizations
should not be overlooked with this insight.
Scientism And the Two Main Arguments Against It
Essentially, scientism believes that the hard sciences like chemistry, biology, physics, and
astronomy are the sole authentic sources of information about reality. At the very least, this
scientific understanding is far superior to anything we can learn from any other subject (Hietanen
et al.,2020). Ethics and religion may be acceptable, but only if they are recognized as
intrinsically subjective and treated as personal choices. The argument that ethical and religious
conclusions may be just as factual as science and hence should be acknowledged as scientific
realities, according to scientism, could be a symptom of bias and intolerance. It indicates that
hard sciences rely on accurate, reproducible, and testable evidence to provide credible results. In
contrast to hard sciences, soft sciences are regarded as pseudosciences because they give
estimates and conjectures that are prone to change and may not be repeatable, making them
inferior to hard sciences.
There are two basic counter-arguments to scientism. Hard sciences do not provide
absolute truths and facts since they are reorganized by current environmental understanding and
measuring tools. In hard sciences, things previously regarded as fundamental facts are not
changed when new knowledge is revealed. This implies that the knowledge provided by both
soft and hard sciences is liable to change throughout time. Secondly, the hard sciences have

taken a totalitarian attitude that is too reliant on logic while dismissing personal opinion. These
dictatorial techniques suppress willful thought, which is necessary for discovering new
knowledge and developing research.
Worldview Questions According to My Perspective and Worldview

What is ultimate reality?
The concept that every human results from interactions with the environment are known
as ultimate reality. My environment impacts how I develop, and I am a product of nurture. My
beliefs, mannerisms, and cognitive processes have affected my family, neighborhood,
community, city, state, government, and other environmental variables. For example, if I were a
Muslim, I would accept polygamy more and less of a Christian. The two religious beliefs have
different views on the number of partners in lawful marriage. As a result, ultimate reality
investigates how experience influences reasoning, decision-making, and life views.
The nature of the universe?
Nature is constantly changing, with time being the most fundamental change. Energy is
used to drive change in the universe, with the degree and direction of change decided by priority
processes like competition, extinction, evolution, and energy conversion (Riess, 2020). Nature
does not break these rules because it is as it is, and a supernatural being ensures that it stays that
way. As a result, nature may be defined as time, space, and matter.
What is a human being?
There are two ways to define a human being. The first definition comes from a religious
standpoint, in which God is identified as the creator of humans. According to the Christian
creation account, people were formed in God's image to reproduce and do his will, including
caring for other things and obeying the Ten Commandments (King James Bible,2017 , Genesis
1:27). The second definition comes from a biological standpoint, which sees people as products
of evolution who have evolved higher mental processes that allow them to adapt their
surroundings to their requirements. Humans have developed complex languages and terminology
5
and technology and clothing that would enable them to utilize the world beyond their physical
capacities, thanks to the higher mental process.
What is knowledge?
Knowledge is the distinct collection of facts, information, and abilities that a human
acquires intellectually via experience and education. Experience entails doing knowledge to get
acquainted with it, whereas education entails participating in formal and informal procedures to

gain theoretical knowledge. Individuals with knowledge can think more creatively. A person
skilled in engineering, for example, can successfully manage a building project, whereas a
person knowledgeable in medicine can diagnose and cure diseases.
What is your basis of ethics?
My understanding of ethics is founded on two ideas. The first premise is that moral good
and wrong are determined by personal opinion, beliefs, and awareness. This is based on what my
surroundings have taught me. For example, I think that everyone should perform honest labor to
make a livelihood and that stealing is wrong. I would find it tough to steal regardless of my
surroundings or regulations. The second component is public views and principles. Although I
have personal opinions, they may or may not coincide with the general beliefs formed by public
debate and consensus. For example, ethical rules govern how to handle private information in the
workplace, and regardless of my own opinions, I must adhere to the guidelines.
What is the purpose of your existence?
I exist to serve two reasons. My primary goal is to procreate for future generations, which
involves getting married, having children, working to make money, and providing for my
family's necessities. It also entails caring for my environment so that future generations do not
suffer from my mistakes. My second goal is to fulfill God's will by adhering to religious values
6
such as the Ten Commandments and acting with integrity. I believe that God made me serve and
am only valuable for as long as I perform. As a result, my goal is to procreate, leave a better
planet for future generations, and carry out God's will.
