minority in the united states. Their sense of right was crippled and lost the power to participate in
the socio-economic and political progressions. Despite all these, they have made massive
contributions to the historical and cultural aspects of the America.
The current health status of the b lack American has improved the mortality rate of the
black Americans has decreased by great proportions. They are now living a lengthy life with
their death decreased by 25 percent for the past seventeen years for people with more than 64
years. Although there is such a breaking improvement, a fresh research indicates that the Black
Americans are enduring various conditions that are found in the white Americans on their Late
ages. There exists a distinguishable variation in the health of the Black American and the white
Americans which are caused by social and economic circumstances existing between the whites
and African Americans. The variations indicate that black Americans displays the conditions that
affect the whites at young age that when not appropriately taken care of may lead to death (Jon-
Ubabuco et al. 2019). Americans have the right to gain equal chances to get a healthy living at
most of the Black Americans have the tendency of not pursuing the medical right due to the cost
of the service. The group have some people who have medical covers that facilitate them during
the times of sickness. They are mostly disadvantaged by the demography in the nation in terms
of economy and social positions of the minority of the group.
The factors that have an impact in the health conditions of the race are majorly social
factors. The social implications of the racial sense are very much dominating in the process of
ensuring the equality of health the nation between the Black American and the whites Americans

in the country. The attempting efforts in addressing the different perceived challenges cannot be
divorced from their dominating victimization of race. The reforms in the health sector has made
it possible for majority of Black Americans to have a positive support from the government. The
establishment of Affordable Care Act facilitated the acquisition of cheap medical covers to all
Americans including the Black population in the country. More than 2.5 million of Black
Americans were privileged to this service and reduced the number of those uninsured to a
commendable level (Jon-Ubabuco et al. 2019). Despite this improvement, the percentage of
those uninsured to that of the whites were still the highest. The accessibility to the Affordable
Care was still an illusion to majority of African Americans due to the high cost of the health
covers in the country. The high costs of health insurance have kept the numbers of uninsured at
the steeping increase especially for this set of population in the United States.
The United states has built a platform for racial disparities for many years in terms of the
system of medical covers, the existence of chronical conditions, mental and mortality health of
individuals in the minority of the groups. The Black American population have been
experiencing several disparities related to their ability to achieve the health care, the chronic
health conditions and much more of the same (Powell, et al. 2016). There are persistent rates of
chronic disease conditions affecting the black American community at deeper proportion than
that of the white population. Untimely death rates are high to this group of minority is leading in
the United states than the white population of the United states. They experience injuries and

various types of disability with higher mortality rates in these conditions than that of the whited
population of the Unites States. The top aspects that lead in the cause of death in this group of
minority include the HIV virus, septicemia and the homicide cases. The total number of Black

same manner. research indicates that more African American women die due to cancer infection
than the white women in the country.
Several barriers to the ability to acquire and access services in health have been
pinpointed which include the inability to support individual pay to medical services, the inability
to comprehend the treatment procedures, lack of timely transportation means, cultural grounds of
the Black community and educational standards. The socioeconomic barrier has been a rising
factor that involve hinder the accessibility of health services in the country. The level of
education is another barrier for health in this group (Garcia et al. 2015). This involve the
individual level of understanding and practicing the prescription of accessed medication. the
sociopolitical factor is another undermining factor in health for African Americans. They have
limited political support to fight for their health standards in the country.
One of the health promotion activities assimilated and is being practiced by this minority
group is a physical activity. This have been the center-point for disease control prevention in this
population group. The level of health promotion prevention that the Black Americans falls under
is the primary level. The group of population depends mostly on the vaccination programs while
still young and only a few participate in cancer screening programs. This lead to high death rates
for African Americans who die from Cancer each year. This primary level of promotion
prevention would be effective in the process of curbing health issues for this minority group in
the United States. This level of health promotion prevention will be effective due to the
dominating behavior of the members of this group focusing on the initial stages of preventing the
disease through vaccination. The later level (tertiary level) may be unavailable or unaffordable
for the African Americans to participate into making it hard to be effective.

When creating a care plan for African Americans, various beliefs must be kept in mind.
Some of this beliefs include the cultural belief, the practice of home based herbs, the literacy in
health issues and racial influence on the minority group. The cultural competent theory that
supports this minority group is the United States. The model of cultural competent will need the

desires will be the motivating factors for health practitioners to engage themselves to establish a
culturally competence while cultural awareness will reexamine themselves to counter personal
prejudices (Norris et al. 2017). The process of cultural knowledge will enable the health
practitioners to acquire relevant information on the life of African American patient while
cultural skills will be essential in the process of merging several information related to the
minority group. The cultural encounter is the final stage of the model that enable a health
practitioner to engage in a face to face interactions with the members of the Black American
community. This sort of competence model is effective since it focusses on understanding a
Black American as a patient and improving the process of health care delivery services to the
minority.
