Death and dying are a bitter and testing part of life, however the reality of life. The
nature of death mainly involves deep-rooted philosophical and religious questions. Euthanasia is
a very contentious issue that involves the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable

put through God’s curse because we rejected God first in the garden of Eden from the beginning.
All the things that God has given to humanity has been corrupted by human beings, thus they
have served suffering that comes with God’s judgment. Goerge should therefore console himself
that all human beings has sinned against God and thus suffering is expected.
According to Christianity, it is believed that everything existing in the world was created
by God and Jesus Christ came to earth to assign physical body to the highest God to enable
Christians to see God in their image. Hence, Christians would interpret what is happening to
George as the will of God. Some people believe that suffering like the one George is undergoing
is intended to bring people closer to God and to make them aware of Christ’s suffering.
Christian teachings about Jesus Christ death changes the experience and perspective of
death. Although death is a tragedy , Jesus conquered it on the cross. Hence, death was defeated
and this gives Christians hope for resurrection when Christ comes back. Christians believe that
God will redeem them from death because He redeems what is broken. This teaches Christians to
be close to there creator and live according to His will. Christians remain steadfast in their
Christian beliefs when they perceive that suffering is the will of God. This also helps them to
strengthen their Christian faith.
If an individual also perceive that his/her suffering is as a result of past sins, this may
give them an opportunity to repent their sins and go back to God. This indicates that God is very

This discussion will focus on the case study of Goerge, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis. ALS is a degenerative disease where the victim finally loses the ability to speak,
breath, move, eat, and eventually dies. George impending death and ethics involved in
euthanasia according to Christians perspective will also be analyzed.
According to Christianity, fallenness of the world go hand in hand with suffering. It all
started when God put Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden and gave them the mandate to nurture
and care for God’s creation. Adam and Eve were given the liberty to eat all the fruits in the
garden except from the fruit in the garden which they were forbidden from eating. They lived
peacefully without any suffering until they ate the fruit in the middle of the garden of Eden that
God had warned them against.
They were then chased away from the garden of Eden. This is where the fallenness of the
world started and God alienated Himself from Adam and Eve because of their sinning. As per
the Christian narrative, the beginning of human suffering was due to the fallenness of the world.
God cursed Adam and Eve and told them that they will have to toil to get food. Accordingly,
human suffering is a curse from God and from that time, life changed.
Hence, George can relate his suffering to being a sinner because God pronounced that
sinning is the main cause of suffering. Human being keep on sinning from time to time, and
always fall short of God’s will. This can be juxtaposed with George’s suffering. George can
substantiate his suffering to the sinful nature of human’s. As human beings, we do not like being
orderly because He allows us to suffer so as that we can turn back from our sinful ways and
experience His love. Even if some people may view their suffering as a punishment, it is still a
manifestation that God has a great love for all human beings and motivates them to live
according to the will of God. Christians have the hope of resurrecting after death just like Jesus
did. These insights can help George to assess his life, repent, and believe that God has forgiven

his sin and his suffering will end after death. After George repents his sins, he will have the hope
of resurrecting again once Christ comes back for the church.
Christians perceives live as something very precious and no one has the right to take
away his life or the life of another person. Individuals are expected to persevere any pain and all
experiences linked with pain whenever they face any physical or mental health. Such
experiences should not make an individual to decide to end their lives. According to these
perspectives, George should view his life as precious and a gift from God and should not be
taken by any person, but God.
George should also endure the pain an all experiences associated with the amyotrophic
lateral sclerosis. Christians believe that an individual should hold on to their faith during their
sufferings. George should understand that even at the face of an impending devastating and
disabling disease such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis he is still a valuable human being. Life is
a precious gift from God and from the time sin entered the world suffering is part of everyone’s
life. Hence, George’s life is still precious to God, and He has the reason why He allowed George
to undergo amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. George should figure out what God is trying to teach
him with the illness and use his current situation and life, for the glory of God. Consequently,
George should continue to endure the suffering in the virtue of respecting life and Christian
teaching concerning the value of life, as being God’s valuable gift.
The sort of values that the Christian perspective would zero in on deciding with respect to
whether George is ought to decide on willful euthanasia or exclude that enduring is important
forever and just like Christ endured we ought to acknowledge suffering. Jesus died on the cross
and before His demise, he went through noteworthy torment and eventually, asked God as to
whether it is His will, He should remove the cup of misery. Subsequently, George's enduring is

God's will and consequently, he ought to acknowledge the affliction and approach God for
adequate effortlessness to have the option to persevere through the suffering. Likewise, God

and draw nearer to God.

and obstructing God’s process is morally wrong and unacceptable. Additionally, Christians
perceive suffering as part of life and God’s plan and therefore it is morally wrong to stand in the
way of the plan of God. Christians should accept the suffering and pain of a terminally ill person
just as Jesus Christ accepted His suffering on the cross.
The ethically and morally advocated choice would be for George to keep living until God
takes his life. Hence, killing isn't an option for George as indicated by the Christian's view. As
per Christianity, human life is valuable and a blessing from God and thus taking human life and
meddling with the process of God is unsatisfactory and ethically off-base. Furthermore, Christian

perceive suffering as an integral part of life and furthermore the plan of God and hence it is
ethically and morally wrong to meddle with the plan of God. Along these lines, suffering and
agony of an individual in critical condition ought to be acknowledged by Christians similarly as
Christ acknowledged his suffering on the cross.
Despite the fact that I am a Christian, on the off chance that I was in George's
