degree, a bachelor's degree, or a degree, all of which provide practical skills-based education and

intense science. The education process that nurses go through now is different from how it was a

hundred years back when training of a nurse was more concentrated on how to talk to a doctor

and etiquette. Nowadays, a nurse has to pass the exam, which is a necessity recently to become a

licensed registered nurse. With an education foundation that is stronger, nurses have gently taken

on more patient responsibility, specifically advanced practice nurses. A nurse can sometimes

administer medication, work autonomously, and make diagnoses (Nurse.org, 2020).

Most of the nurses who work under the guardship of doctors still have a significant deal

of input in assisting the team in choosing the best treatment options. In many ways, ' with the

help of technology, nurses can become more efficient and reduce physical demands. Today's

nurses can do a course of advanced nurse training or earn certification to improve in their roles

and increase their income. There are many types of nurses than years back, and also, there are

various places where nurses can work outside the range of hospitals. Nurses are required in

nursing homes, schools to perform home healthcare services, medical offices, correctional

facilities, and assisted living facilities. Travel nursing is becoming popular, where nurses are

working as independent contractors in areas of high demand for the amount of time that is

scheduled. Today, we can say that it is more flexible in finding a job in nursing that works with

one’s lifestyle preferences and schedule.

When it comes to professional skills, an ADN prepared nurse can be said to be a

"technical nurse" contrary to a BSN level nurse who is said to be a "professional" nurse. These

two differ where Bachelor's degree concentrates on nursing research, clinical, management skills

training, and leadership while an Associate degree trains an individual mostly on clinical skills

(Nightingale, 2019). In a patient care scenario, we can discuss a patient in labor delivery with

slightly raised blood pressures before the pregnancy. Still, with exercise by the patient and diet,

she was able to prevent medication. But when admitted, an order for medication on blood

pressure was ordered as a PRN if required. As the patient goes into labor, her pressures begin to

slightly rise. Then the ADN nurse enters and sees the reading looks at her dispenses and orders

medication since that is what that nurse is competent with. While the BSN nurse enters into the

room of the patient and also sees the readings and note that the patient is a little upset and seems

more uncomfortable.

So, the BNS asks if she was having pain that increases and if she can give her anything

for pain relief since it may help in blood pressure reduction. The nurse also asks if there is

something else disturbing the patient, and the patient says that she argued with her boyfriend;

that is why she is upset. So, with a quiet environment and some pain relief, the BSN nurse

avoided offering the extra patient medication for her blood pressure.

Evidence-based practice is an important component in BSN prepared registered nurse

practice. It gets them ready for different aspects of healthcare management, patient care, and

leadership that are obvious in today's practice. Also, the practice of evidence-based allows BSN

prepared nurses to combine their practice with technology, improve their work capacity in

integrative teams, formulate health policies, take leadership positions in professional bodies, and

actively engage health advocacy (Joseph M., 2019).

Interdisciplinary teamwork is a critical model for delivering healthcare to patients. In

healthcare, teamwork employs improve collaboration and communication practices to broaden

the traditional roles of healthcare workers and make decisions as a unit that works together to

achieve a common objective. The use of methods of communication and meetings to take over

the results of a patient, discuss suggestions to better performance, and share information.

Collaboration and teamwork are mostly important to patient care in a health system that is

decentralized with many levels of healthcare workers. Patient care is more complicated today

than ever because of an increasingly large aging population with one or more chronic conditions

like cancer, kidney disease, arthritis, or diabetes. Since these illnesses are complex, there is a

need for care that is specialized, which has resulted in a multidisciplinary approach to patients’

treatment. With teams made up of different physicians, nurses, and other professionals, it is

essential that they effectively and clearly communicate with one other to build a strong working

relationship, solve problems, and share resources (Eastern Illinois University, 2019).
