There is no lie that there are three methodological approaches in organization
and management research, according to (Bryman, 2008). There are underlying
paradigmatic assumptions and concepts in each of the three basic
methodological approaches. There are three main paradigms or worldviews
globally, which are prominent in contemporary research in the social sector
(Arbnor and Bjerke, 2008). These three are Positivism, interpretivism, and
critical theory/postmodernism.
When I take Positivism, I talk of guiding the analytical approach. Interpretivism
is responsible for the general guide of the system approach, and critical theory
or postmodernism is responsible for guiding the actor's approach. Positivism
has become a dominant institutional form in social research, while
interpretivism and critical theory have had an increased application that has to
be understood.
In research, the operative paradigm acts as a bridge between a methodological
approach in a study area. In other words, paradigms are critical in assist
researchers in having an outlook on the way reality of life is. The researcher
assumes it is an objective world which science can 'mirror' with much-
privileged knowledge at hand. By the interpretive paradigm, the whole systems
methodological approach assumes it is an intersubjective world. In many ways,
science could have different concepts of actors and the social construction of
reality.
However, it should be known that "reality" is somehow structured of
contradictions and exploitation, which can be objective. The whole is equal to

the sum of its parts, and knowledge does not assume that much of reality is
objectively accessible (Morelli, 2009).
Positivism
It is commonly associated with experiments and quantitative research.
Positivism is considered as a form of or a progression of empiricism. There is a
suggestion that empiricism is among the two foundationalist philosophies -
rationalist or empiricist, which beliefs knowledge should be objective and being
free from a different form of business.
In Positivism, there is a Believe that there are specic facts that could be
proven that reality is similar to every person. Observation and measurement tell
us that reality is suggested four essential characteristics of Positivism (Arbnor
and Bjerke, 2008).
The rst one is phenomenalism. The only knowledge conrmed by the sciences
is genuine. The second one is deductivism. It is responsible for generating
hypotheses that can be tested for provable 'laws.' Objectivism argues that for
science to be logical, it should be entirely value-free.
When it comes to interpretivism, which has considerable similarity to historical
roots in anthropology, it is in a great position to Positivism. Therefore, it is most
of the time and anti-positivism when some factor is considered (Morelli, 2009).
There is an argument that truth and knowledge are, most of the time,
subjective. It is also culturally and historically situated based on people's
experiences and their understanding of them. It has come to attention that
researchers could not ultimately be able to differentiate the two species. The
researcher can never separate their values and believes. Therefore, they will
inevitably inform ways in which they collect the interpretation and analysis
data.

Different factors act as contributors to interpretivism. Sometimes
interpretivism is related to the understanding of texts or documents and more
profound meaning in them. Coming closer to understanding what is real and
what is true is coming close to understanding what interprets is in the rst
place. Let us take an example that subjects are the people in the world, and
objects are what we study in general.
When the researcher could be a subject and nay in one time become an object
of study when reecting on their thoughts, process, and actions in general. It is
doubtful that many researchers will be detached from class, gender, or even
race (Morelli, 2009).
Critical theory/Postmodernism
When it comes to critical theory/postmodernism, I can dene it as a non-
skeptical version of this conception, linking philosophy closely to human and
social sciences. In so doing, it is essential to link empirical and interpretive
social science to different normative claims of truth, morality, and justice at
once (Bryman, 2008).
It is challenging for one to say what postmodernism is. This is because we have
fewer people who would label themselves postmodern, traditionalist, or even
modern, for that matter. If people are forced to create a narrative in history,
postmodernism would argue that we could not fully understand these
intellectual spheres near here.
The good thing here is that critical theory takes note and considers the
enlightenment thinkers thought they understood the world. However, they were
rational that mistaken thought led to blindness that preceded the horror of the
past.
There are basic paradigmatic assumptions of the analytical approach in every
situation, which is determining a problem, describing and assisting in

forecasting to give things to go through.
Contrary to many analytical and systems approaches, there are basic
approaches that will not occur in the given situation even if the causes are
present. In other words, to discover the content of individual components and
the way they are kept together also says a lot. There is also the factor of
vulnerability across people. The entire future is promising, meaning that in play
in these relations, the meaning tends to become ambiguous. The entire future
of these three methodologies could be promising hence ensuring there is a
developing language for understanding the relationship between
methodological approach area to be studied as a whole (Bryman, 2008).
In conclusion, the basic methodological approaches in organization and
management research are characterized by the remarkable complexity and
diversity of the research's methodological applied. Most of this approach is
based on the opposite ontological and epistemological assumptions; they
include different research types and use opposite, quantitative and qualitative
methods that could otherwise be based on other things (Morelli, 2009).
The subjectivism pf methodological approach ensures that organizational
culture is treated in all uniqueness and complexity bearing. It should be known
that this method cannot be easily tested to give criteria of reliability and
validity. The choice could be between objectivistic and subjectivistic
methodological approaches to organizational culture. Since it is possible to
combine them as methods, it is of full awareness of all characteristics,
advantages, and disadvantages to the matter in general.
However, it should be known that each of them is legitimate as long as the
people involved in the research are not making unallowed combinations of
methods, is aware of all the characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages of
his research design, and makes this public to the interested party.

Personal Operative Paradigm
The paradigm that I would prefer is the "Positive" paradigm, which was held on
social behavior could be studied and understood rationally and scientically in
contrast to very many things.
This is a type of operative paradigm that was held and understood rationally.
Sometimes, it can be referred to as human beings act rationally in their daily
lives.
Assumptions
The Positive paradigm assumes an objective world where science is free to “m
irror” with secret knowledge. The paradigm's entire goal is to ensure that the
facts and truth are well uncovered and everything is out in the limelight.
Different types of analysis are used experiments, questionnaires, and
secondary data analysis. Qualitative analysis is needed for it to be utilized with
grounded theory testing in the positivist paradigm. This shows the analytical
approach where there is ahead of crucial assumption in many things (Sage.
Bryman, 2008). This positivist analytical approach is responsible for ensuring
there is reality and veried judgments.
This particular phenomenon allows things to be accurate, and researchers get
to know, measure, and observe different parts as a whole. This could mean that
researchers have the right to know measures and observe the different parts as
a whole, then these parts could be combined to get a total picture of things
(Morelli, 2009).
The world is objective is one of Positivism's assumptions, which is consistent in
the assumption that the entire world exists. Positivism is well aware that what
is captured in the study of variable relations or facts to be probabilistic and not
deterministic. In this context, falsication could occur purely because of the
complexity of the real-world organizational behavior problems. Furthermore, it

is sometimes very impossible to assess all the possible variables to determine
and verify a relationship among variables.
Concepts
Different researchers are using an analytical approach within my choice of
positive paradigm. They usually use different concepts: deduction and
induction, causal relations, verication and concept analysis, and the general
idea, which is otherwise known as ('other things being equal).
Hypotheses
In this context, the positive paradigm uses veried hypotheses involving valid,
reliable, and precisely measured variables. It is essential to test and utilize the
hypothesis of testing the designs because of casual studies conducted to
detect relationships and correlational studies geared towards an
understanding of specic relationship goals. These research designs have a
relationship in one way or the other with the methodological approach that I
illustrated below.
However, its assumption is that different from itself, such as determining how
things are. Therefore, the positivist focus on different experimental and
quantitative methods used to test and verify the hypotheses as a whole which
have been superseded or complemented to some extent by an interest in using
qualitative methods to gather information extensively (Sage. Bryman, 2008).
Variables
In any way that one could put it, Positivism describes the relationships well in
an excellent logical manner among different variables. Most of the time, this
expectation is causal which involves the notion of causation in many ways.
There is a way that a person could attribute things to another, particularly on
another variable. An example of this is in construction theory in the positivist
paradigm. The researcher would derive the relationship between variables

based on what people know about each variable. This theory is most of the
concluded in variables.,
Operational Denitions
Positivism could be viewed as a step beyond conceptualization. Which in other
words, it could be referred to as the process of developing operational
denitions. This term positivist paradigm could be a feature of different
scientic methods seeking the truth, which is observed not through authority
but ideology (Morelli, 2009). In this category, the creation of knowledge that
experiment is undertaken in a controlled environment should ensure objective
measurements that are ideal in positivist paradigm and analytical,
methodological approach.
For sure objective measurement is one of the ideal approaches in both of
positivist paradigm and analytical, methodological approach.
Conclusion
In a nutshell, I can condently say that Positivism relies on experience to be a
good source of knowledge. However, a wide range of primary and essential
concepts cause time and space, which are not based on experience most of the
time. It should be known that Positivism assumes almost all types of processes
which can be perceived as a specic variation of actions between people.
The general adoption of Positivism can be criticized for reliance on different
status quo. In other words, the ndings from this research can only be
descriptive since they could lack insight into different things. One could inspect
that in the future that everything should be measurable as possible. The
objective measurements could be ideal in the positivist paradigm and
approach, which could otherwise be methodological.
