Report 1500 words
Write a report about the understanding of the experiments conducted in the article
“Protein disulfide isomerase inhibitors constitute a new class of antithrombotic agents”
Questions to address in a writing a research report
· What is missing/gap in our knowledge?
· What is the study trying to address (research question or aim)?
· What are the tools/assays/model used to address the aim?
· What did they find?
· Is there any surprise in the findings?
· How did the findings fit into our current knowledge?
· What is the deficiency of the study?
Report structure:
Introduction
−Introduce the topic (thrombosis, inflammation, thiol isomerase, etc)
−What is missing in the field
−Introduce the paper you would be discussing in the report (hypothesis, aims, etc)
Methods
−What kinds of tools, assays, models did the authors employ (talk about those that match your results)
−What were the controls included in the study
Results
−What did the authors find (you may only have space to discuss 3-4 pieces of data), pick those that make a story
−Can include the figures as long as you reference it
Discussion
−How did the findings fit into our current knowledge?
−Are the findings relevant to existing practice (such as treatment or therapuetics)?
−Is there any deficiency in the study?
