2 Malcolm Baldrige Award is an award intended to create awareness of quality management and formally recognize the American companies that demonstrate quality and performance excellence. The award sets a high standard for quality to satisfy the customer’s demands in the market. 3 The U.S. president usually gives the Malcolm Baldrige award to the winning companies (Miller & Parast, 2018).
4 As a judge for the Malcolm Baldrige Award, I would evaluate Polaris for this prestigious award based on their leadership since they have effective communication and have maintained customer satisfaction. Effective leadership has made it possible for the Polaris industries to sell a large volume of its products in the United States. From table 8.4, the industry has achieved a good score on the basis of senior management commitment and effective governance and social responsibility. They have also implemented a good strategic plan through strategy implementation and implementation. Polaris industries have been able to focus on their customers by hearing their voices and involving them. This has led to customer satisfaction.

Baldrige Award was first introduced in 1987 by the U.S. Congress. It was named the Malcolm Baldrige award after Malcolm Baldrige junior who was the U.S secretary for commerce during the Reagan administration. 5 It is an award for excellence in quality improvement and management. The award sets high criteria used in the evaluation of Polaris performance. Baldrige Award is not only recognized in the United States but also globally. Some of the industries that can receive this reward are manufacturing firms, service companies, education institutions and also small and large businesses. 6 The evaluation categories available for Polaris industries are leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce focus, process management and lastly outcomes.
Based on the company’s performance, I would recommend the following points on the seven performance categories.
