Discussion : Conflict and Creativity within Teams
Part 1: Conflict within Teams
The last two developments of this research inspired this article. First, the intra-team
conflict literature began to assume that measuring conflict levels using three-
component classification (e.g., work, attitude, and process conflict) could reliably
describe team performance. For example, recent meta-analyses have cast doubt on the
use of this taxonomy by questioning the broader theoretical benefits of task conflict
and suggest that one can predict negative consequences equivalent to conflict of
positional relations. (Behfar, et.al. 2008)
The conflict management process involves various activities, including
communication, problem-solving, emotional work, and awareness positions. Conflict
management behaviors are mainly studied as "personal styles" of individuals' types of
behaviors (such as threats or compromises) or generalized behaviors. On the one
hand, the relationships between climate equality and, on the other hand, task conflict
and the quality of team communication are based on the theory of sub teams in work
teams and the theory of proper differentiation. (González-Romá, 2014) Therefore,
location conflict interferes with data processing, which impedes team performance.
On the other hand, new ideas do not emerge when people feel that they cannot
disagree and express different opinions. Team Thinking is a way of thinking that
develops when people value team consensus and harmony. Team Communication
Quality Communication between team members is clear, efficient, complete,
proficient, and timely. For example, collaborative or collaborative approaches
increase the effectiveness of conflict management.
Task Conflict
This includes disagreements over the content and results of team allocation. For
example, when finding a cure for a rare brain injury, consider the different angles a
neurologist, engineer, and microbiologist can bring to the table. They are likely to
discuss the treatment or outcome, and different perspectives will lead to
disagreements.
Relationship Conflict
This type of conflict is based on differences of opinion within the team on mutual
issues. All interactions between this person and others are likely to lead to conflicts.
Conflicts need to be resolved in a timely and professional manner to minimize
productivity disruptions. The ability to resolve group conflicts is crucial to the success
of any organization.
Process Conflict
This can lead to disagreements over how things should be handled. When conflicts
arise between members of a group, resolving these differences and coming to a
common understanding allows everyone to work harmoniously and effectively.
Part 2: Creativity in Teams
Creativity requires moving away from certain paths of traditions and works. Many say
that it is physically impossible to create anything without it. The idea of creating
anything is to create something new or original. True creativity does not get more than
the creativity of others, so we value realism. (Fridman, 2016)
Types of creativity:
Divergent thinking:
It moves away from traditional, convergent thinking, which is a different line of
thought and analysis—looking for the right answer. A different idea is simple and
abrupt. Rather than finding a single correct answer, a person who thinks differently
will find many options to solve problems. Brainstorming, guessing, and imagination
are all examples of different ideas. It is possible to increase disagreement by applying
open-end questions when touching on issues rather than closed ones. Moving to a
different way of thinking may not be convenient for analytical thinkers, but the
experience can quickly foster creativity.
Motivation and imagination
Motivation and imagination are important for creativity. Webster's vision is to
"combine materials with experience or memory to achieve a higher goal; Ability to
think and express the ideal. "
