There are several consequences and concerns when you plagiarize. Either you do not care enough about your education, or you do not have an efficient understanding of how to do your assignments. When and if you get caught plagiarizing you can receive academic punishment ranging from failing the assignment and even explosion. If you do not get caught, plagiarizing has the potential of becoming addictive. You then become at a greater risk of being caught. Either way, you are cheating yourself out of a fully substantial education. If caught, you most likely will lose credibility as a writer. Plagiarism is not just copying or cheating but stealing. It shows a great lack of moral character and integrity. Those who are known to plagiarize risk their reputation long term. Any of your future works will be subject to great doubt and scrutiny as you will not be seen as a trustworthy authority on the subject. Not only do you risk your reputation but your educational career as well. Proven plagiarism can lead to failing a course, loss of scholarships or financial aid, or expulsion. Always properly cite your sources and present your best original work to protect your educational career and your reputation. The digital age has made so many works accessible, but it is critical to source and utilize them correctly. Even unintentional plagiarism has the same negative impact on you as intentional. Ignorance is no excuse; we are responsible for knowing for recognizing when and how to quote or cite a source.  Failure to do so can show that you did not respect the assignment, your peers, or your instructors enough to take the time to properly create your assignment. As a writer submitting original and well thought out work allows you to be the authority on that subject. You are a credible and respected writer, and all your works will be seen as valid. Having submitted plagiarized works, even in the past, forever sets a tone of bias to your reader that your piece may not be original. Take the time to write a well thought out paper, research your subject, and cite your sources properly. If you are not sure there are many sources to use to make sure you are using resources correctly and effectively. You must have the respect and integrity to ensure you are submitting your best work and giving credit where it is due, this allows you to receive the credit you are due. Plagiarism is simply unacceptable, and the risk is much too high to take.
