Leadership can be defined as the ability to influence a group of people towards achieving a common goal. This influence need not necessarily come from a set of practices, policies, and processes set by the organizations. They can be categorized as management processes to regulate the working of the employees. Leadership is what transforms the attitude of the employees in following those processes and procedures. It is what inspires them to perform at their peak and align their interests with the organizations. As the chapter also suggests, not all managers are good leaders, and not all leaders are good managers. This is clear from the above explanation. In an organization or a new team, leaders give the starting structure with his vision. The leader defines the mission and the organization's objective and identifies the right people to achieve it. Leadership also sets the organization's core values. A leader needs to inspire the employees to make these core values their own. This is probably one of the significant roles of a leader. In the early parts, a leader may have to lead by example (Muterera et al., 2018).
This is sometimes referred to as leading from the front. However, another approach to leadership has been leading from the back. They were empowering the team members to move forward and take the lead. In this way, the leader supports and overlooks the activities and participates less indirectly or anonymously. Best leaders inspire the team to believe that the organization is their own. In the competitive world and intense competition for the market, the leader's figure has become essential and crucial in large companies' command. When the organization has a competent leader in a company and performs the role with excellence, many benefits are noticed, and the leader's performance is linked to the team's performance. Thus, if he does a great job, his workgroup or team's increased productivity is often noticed. This defines leadership as influencing others to understand and agree about what needs to be done and how to do it, and the process of facilitating individual and collective efforts to accomplish shared objectives (Rosenbach, 2018).
Therefore, the leader is the ideal link between planning and execution because his ability to motivate and inspire a group of people is a differential path for efficiency and competitiveness. A leader needs to face the day-to-day impartially, considering all the alternatives, facing the changes as opportunities, learning to deal with the new, always stimulating, and motivating his employees, workgroup, and teams. Leadership is to serve a purpose within an organization in a powerful way to those we influence. Influence is the use of actual behavior that causes behavioral or attitudinal changes in others. Thus, it is an ability that can be developed, used to influence people so that they can perform their jobs with enthusiasm, joy, and satisfaction, directing to the goals. Moreover, the leader must strive to reflect an outstanding professional, committed to his responsibilities and role in the organization, since many may mirror their attitudes and posture due to the position held (Robbins & Judge, 2018).

Politics is a concept that creates indirect influence over issues in an organization and is not a required element in an individual’s role in an organization. Politics can easily disorient an organization.
