· The latest State Equality Index, a yearly report of statewide laws and policies that affect LGBT people produced by the Human Rights Campaign and the Equality Federation Institute and released Thursday, revealed a record 17 states (and the District of Columbia) earning a top rating.
· That’s an increase of four states over last year and more than double the eight states from 2014, the first year the index was published.
· Of course, that still leaves 33 states in the other three rankings, with 28 of them in the lowest category, dubbed “High Priority to Achieve Basic Equality.
· “It’s incredibly important that these states have taken action to make sure LGBTQ people are afforded equal rights under the law in their states, but certainly, it’s concerning that there are still 33 states that are not there,” said Cathryn Oakley, the Human Rights Campaign’s state legislative director and senior counsel.
· "LGBTQ people still face the sobering reality that their rights are determined by which side of a state or city line they call home," campaign president Chad Griffin said in a statement. "As this year's State Equality Index makes clear, the time has come for us to do away with this patchwork of state laws and to protect all LGBTQ people bypassing the federal Equality Act.

R: In this report, the recorded data of 17 states are shared based on which discrimination law was imposed and it promotes LGBT communities right. But still, many states are 33 in number where these laws do not promote. In these communities, LGBT rights are not practiced due to which these people suffer and face discrimination.

P: This article discussed discrimination and law that are made to reduce discrimination for LGBT people. The laws are made by the government for the protection of LGBT communities but not enforced in all states of America. From the statistics, it is evaluated that there are only 17 states who impose these LGBT rights but still there are 33 stated left who are at low ranks to promote such laws for these people so that they will not discriminate. 28 states are those who are the lowest rank because they do not implement these laws. The findings of this article show that there are 100 anti – LGBT laws that are proposed in 29 states but only 2 of them are selected.

‘The costs imposed by strengthening laws outweigh any benefits’

· "Twenty-four states have already passed sexual orientation and gender identity laws. That includes laws that ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, public accommodations, housing, and education.
· Moreover, hundreds of cities and localities across all 50 states have adopted sexual orientation and gender identity policies. These policies aren't being used to promote equality.
· They're being used as a blunt-force weapon to impose a new cultural orthodoxy on marriage and sexuality by punishing dissenters.
· That's exactly how these laws have been used--not to protect people from unfair treatment, but to punish people for their beliefs." (Heritage Foundation) In a commentary, the author stresses that "Lawmakers ought to oppose any kind of federal sexual orientation and gender identity anti-discrimination law."

R: This article summarizes about the bad things and suffering that happened due to implantation of LGBT rights in 100 cities within the USA. Although LGBT law is not practiced in all stated but it is widely practiced. Due to this law people have full liberty to identify them as men or females apart from their biological formation. Hence, sexual activities are promoted within schools and in another place. This article reflects the cases that occurred after these new rules. Thus, these laws are not for the well – being of people but they are creating a problem for them.

Reflection
Before exploring this topic in depth I was in favor that people of the LGBT community people should not be discriminated at the workplace because we have to respect everyone's identity and everyone have the freedom to live life as they like without the interference of anyone. This is what the LGBT law communicates as they give freedom to these people and ensure that they will not be discriminated at the workplace. This law is highly practiced in 17 states of the USA but underperformed in 23 states. Moreover, there are 100 cities where this law is practiced at a greater pace and institutions of these cities alter their rules and regulations for the support of these people. But after exploring this topic and as per the analysis of viewpoint articles. I evaluated how much this law is destructive for the wellbeing of even children. Hence, children or adults who are school are even not protected under this law. Those who claim himself self as female are free to join girl's places because they are obliged under the law to join such places as no one will stop them. But the rape cases that occurred there shows how much discrimination is important. So the unethical behavior of LGBT communities must take care of this fact that if federal law allows them to live as they like so they have to behave ethically in a workplace so that they do not harm other people these people. Under the ethical implication of this law, it is analyzed that due to unethical behavior discrimination for LGBT communities is at a high rate because in the other way they are protecting their workplace from any mishap.
The relevance section in view point one should summarize the quotes. Your summary includes information that does not support the view point. Only summarize the quotes.
Tell more about these authors - are they LGBTQ? Do they research this topic for a living? Are they part of a human rights organization? Why should we listen to them? Why are they credible? What expertise do they have on this topic?
The proof needs to be results of some kind of research that proves this view point. You have a lot there, but very little of it is research findings.
The second viewpoint says that stronger laws in this area cost too much. I don't see that same message in the quotes you selected for this viewpoint. You need to select quotes that indicate that stronger laws cost too much money.
This means that the relevance section is off, too. Your summary will be correct if your quotes are correct.
Again, your viewpoint 2 authority section is not accurate - why should you trust these people if you only have a name? What expertise do they have?
Recall what I said in class about your reflection. What in the articles did you read that helped your form your opinion?
