5. Readings and learning materials for this week provide case studies and examples of “religious oppression” in the United States. Historically, religious oppression was not subtle, but today, they are. They are coded in language about building codes and zoning, and coded in Orientalized imaginations of what and how Asian religions should be and look (e.g. Yoga).
