Religion and intercultural understanding

Consult at least one professional or scholarly source on the traditions of a religion other than your own.  Summarize these traditions; reflect on them using your own personal experience. Relate all this to one theme of intercultural understanding (For example, you may had a chance to visit a country with the religious tradition you chose. You can discuss a culture shock you experienced or compare the observations you made with media stereotypes you encountered before your travel).

How to do it:

1.       Conduct research using scholarly and/or professional sources on the religious tradition you chose.

2.       Start writing, preparing slides or making a video by describing the major beliefs and practices you found.

3.       Describe how these values affect the way of life of followers of that religion.

4.       Offer your own reflections on what you learned, integrating your own religious experience or traditions as well as observations from your own encounter with the chosen tradition.

5.       Reflect on what your analysis and reflections mean for intercultural understanding.

You can submit this work via 5-8 slides, using Prezi or Microsoft PowerPoint.
