gospel he is not baptized but oversees it because he has no

need to be baptized. In John 1: 32 when John gives his

testimony he says

elevate

Jesus

equal,

this is God’s Chosen One.” John the baptist is recognizing Jesus

as the chosen one. I think John wants to elevate Jesus to be Gods

equal, If John is baptizing Jesus that would be make him above

Jesus but instead he has john the baptist recognize Jesus as the

son of god and charge baptizing elevating his status.
