Running Head: PAUL’S TEACHING ON WOMEN AND SUBJECTIVITY TO CONTEXT 1

PAUL’S TEACHING ON WOMEN AND SUBJECTIVITY TO CONTEXT 3

Tydus Coy

I believe Pauls teachings do reflect his historical period. Slavery was a social norm as was the erroneous treatment of women, although in todays world we recognize this as wrong, these were the laws set in place by society at that time. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace." Pauls teachings are to follow these laws as you would God, and to stray from this would cause disorder and as such would be against Gods teachings.

Jesus of Nazareth was most like the Pharisees as the connection to the family table, the last supper. Jesus of Nazareth also states how to love God in the Commandments and the Pharisees also as stated in the video state how to love God. The value of God was also not seen in a Temple or in Priests, which was viewed by Jesus of Nazareth and the Pharisees. Lastly as stated in the video the Pharisees and Christians both believed in the resurrection leading to the notion that Jesus of Nazareth is most similar to the Pharisees.
