For your final exam: Select Two of the following questions and write a FORMAL, FIVE PARAGRAPH ESSAY. Each Essay is worth 50 (100 Total)
1. How have specific individuals influenced or shaped the development of world religions? Evaluate and examine the role of individual(s) in any THREE religions studied this semester.
2. Despite the differences in practices, traditions and ceremonies, can Western religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism) and Eastern religions (Hinduism, Buddhism) be true? Justify by examining any THREE of the following: origins, sacred texts, monotheism, polytheism, goals, view of afterlife, key beliefs / practices, key figures or prophets.
3. Are there too many structures and restrictions in religions, or do religions offer freedoms and choice? Justify by examining any THREE world religions studied this semester.
4. Based on examples from the textbook and perceptions in modern society, does religion promote stability, or is it the catalyst to the world’s problems? Justify by examining any THREE specific examples / events / religions / people from any of the religions studied this semester.
