Command 10% Monthly Inventory
1. SCOPE: This SOP establishes the policy for the proper layout of Basic Issue Items (BII) and Medical Equipment Set (MES) in preparation for Command 10% Monthly Inventories of Evacuation Platforms. 2. APPLICABILITY: This SOP applies to all 1-32nd Infantry Battalion units. For this SOP a “unit” is defined as an element with a Unit Identification Code (UIC), as well as those units/elements that have M997s on long term hand receipt from the 1-32nd Infantry Battalion. 3. REFERENCES:

c. AR 735-5, Policies and Procedures for Property Accountability
2. PURPOSE: To standardize the layout of BII and MES of M997 4-Litter Ambulance in preparation for Command 10% monthly inventories in support of the Commander’s property accountability policies and objectives. 3. RESPONSIBILITIES: a. Commanders and supervisors ensure property accounting of all BII and MES items is complete and accurate IAW references above.
b. Section leaders ensure distribution of this SOP to their subordinates and ensure proper execution of the SOP.
c. Vehicle Driver will maintain responsibility for all equipment assigned to his/her vehicle to
include maintenance, accountability and proper training. d. Assistant Driver will assist the vehicle driver in maintaining responsibility for all equipment assigned to his/her vehicle to include maintenance, accountability and proper training.

4. PROCEDURES: a. All items should be present, complete, cleaned, and fully serviceable. b. Missing Items or unserviceable item must be documented for parts order through the supply system. c. Vehicles should be displayed with all doors and hatches open for inspection with current DA2404 to reflect any deficiencies.
d Four litters should be serviceable and properly hung in the rear treatment compartment. e. The M997 Technical Manual (TM) should be placed 10 feet in front of the vehicle, on the
ground, with the BII inventory sheet to the right of it. f. Display BII 5 Feet in front of the vehicle, not to exceed the width of the vehicle, and in the
order of the inventory sheet. g. MES Box 1 should be placed 10 feet from the front driver side of vehicle. Opened and
emptied. h. MES Box 2 should be placed 10 feet from the rear driver side of vehicle. Opened and
emptied. i. MES Box 3 should be placed 10 feet from the front passenger side of vehicle. Opened and
emptied. j. MES Box 4 should be placed 10 feet from the rear passenger side of vehicle. Opened and
emptied. k. Equipment will be displayed in order of inventory sheet in front of the box. Inventory
sheet will be placed inside on the top right of the box.
5. A copy of this SOP will be provided to the borrowing unit/responsible individual each time a permanent/long term hand receipt is done for receipted M997s.
