Kanye West Presidential Bid

Social media is here is with us, and most of us are on at least two social media platforms. This is where we meet with new friends and get to follow trends which re happening in our global and local community. Social media has increased significantly and has brought people together all across the globe. There is a different topic that has been going on in different social media platforms, one of these being on Kanye's presidential bid. This, for some time, was a hot topic on twitter, and it attracted the attention of so many people. Some were of the opinion that this was not a legit presidential bid, while others were of the opinion that this is yet another time America could get an opportunity to be led by a black person after Obama.

For those who felt that Kanye’s presidential bid was not legit, they argued that this is being used as an opportunity to divide black people. This is an argument that, with Kanye vying for the presidency, some will vote for him, and others will not. Those who will vote for him will be considered as numbers take away from Joe Biden, who is the ideal competitor with Trump. Therefore, such people felt that this is most likely a strategy being used by Trump to secure his residential seat once again. By dividing the votes of Joe Biden, Trump will have an easy election, and he will be able to become victorious once again. For this reason, Kanye was being accused of betraying his people in the opinion that he denied them a chance to vote for present who they wanted. He was therefore being accused in twitter playing with the mind of the black people instead of being loyal to his own.

This was not the only opinion that had surfaced twitter. The second opinion were those who felt that blacks had another chance to make it to presidential. For those how were of this opinion, they felt that if Kanye could make it t presidency, there is a high likelihood of the end of oppression for backs across America. For others, they felt that there was a possibility of Kanye proving that even black presidents can lead as well. There people who felt that blacks have the capacity to lead as well, and this was perfectly seen through Obama's leadership. As part f their campaign, such people were urging America to give their votes to Kanye if they want to enjoy good leadership in Kanye’s administration. In my opinion, this was just a regular issue in politics and did not necessarily need further research.

Black Lives Matters

The second topic that has been trending for a significant time on twitter was on black lives matters. This was after the murder of African America George Floyd, who died in the custody of the police. George was on his normal day when he, unfortunately, met his death, which was termed as a factor of discrimination in America. His death was caused by a police officer who placed his knee on the neck of George for eight minutes until he was out of his breath and hence death.

This raised a very tough and hot topic that was being discussed n social media across the globe. This was under the slogan of black life matters. This slogan was advocating for discrimination issues that black people go through in the hands of a white person. For George, his death was just something usual it is only that for his case, he was not lucky. He was not the only person who had gone through police brutality in America. He was just another victim who suffered at the hands of police, but his death acted as a wakeup call for all Americans.

Many people were calling for justice for Black people. Americas were feeling that they were suffering as racial minorities in the hands of white people. Therefore, Black people and other white people joined different movements across America to condemn police brutality. Furthermore, they were calling for justice to be taken for Floyd. People mobilized widely on social media platforms. People shared feelings and emotional connection n social media platforms. This way, the message and the slogan were able to travel wide globally, and the movement for black lives matter became quite significant for a significant period of time.

Outside America, people joined hands in social media to condemn his actions. For them, this was an act of solidarity to join hands and condemn police brutality across the world; after this event, people showed how their friends went through the same police brutality in other parts of the world. Therefore, this event made people realize that police have been bullying them, not necessarily on a racial basis this created a new topic of the need to train all police force once again.

As a topic of discussion, this needs further research. This is necessary to understand which other ways could have been manifested before. Further research is also necessary to determine if police brutality is only directed to African Americans of police who are just brutal o anyone regardless of their race. Furthermore, this topic is attractiveness for more research to understand the probable reason why police use extra force, which could be deadly when they are discharging their duties.

Corona-Virus miscommunication in social media

The third topic that has surfaced social media for the last six months is the global pandemic, which has taken lives. Corona Virus has been around since last year December, where it started in China; since then, the virus has spread across the world and with it are critical implications that it has caused worldwide shut down. Different topics have been trending in social media pertaining to Corona Virus. These topics have been on deaths caused by the virus, how to prevent contracting the virus, and even the kind of measures one should take in any case hey contract the virus.

One effect that social media has had perta9ning the virus is the cause of increased fear regarding the virus. With social media, one can give their opinion and even actualize whatever they feel like without the approval of what they are saying. Therefore, social media has created a space where a lot of people can assume the role of medical officers. This implies that social media facilitated confusion in understanding this disease. This topic is attractive enough for further students; this is necessary to understand how social media users can be protected from consuming misleading information about the virus on social media platforms. Furthermore, this research is necessary to understand what kind of punishment measures should be taken against people who use social media to mislead others pertaining to the spread and the nature of the virus. This is necessary to protect the mental help of people who could contract the virus.
